OK, so after a week off (for the first time in months!) we're back to business, and so it only felt right to start it off with a little blog post dedicated to a part of photography that helps get our clients business as well! Head shots...
Head shots are photos individuals get for a variety of reasons, but normally, whether they are artists, or a business/corporate professional, head shots are used to promote and advertise our clients and their services.
We've had the pleasure of working with a variety of people on these sessions, and every time, it's a great experience for us as everyone wants something specific to their own personal style. Artists may be trying to capture the persona and look that they portray as they perform, where as many corporate professionals often want a more standard, 'everyday' look. Actors and theatre professionals often want a variety of styles so that they can go to agencies and show the range of 'looks' that they are able to portray, from serious/brooding, to goofy and lighthearted...it all depends on what the shots will be used for...
So needless to say, with that type of variety, it's always a shoot we enjoy at GBP as it keeps us on our toes.

Staff, corporate, or even family group photos... GBP style!
We have been doing more of this style of group photos lately, so I thought maybe I should tell you guys a bit about it.
Above is an example of a staff/corporate group photo... but done in a different way. Instead of lining everyone up in front of the office plant collection, we shoot everyone separately, or in groups of 2 or 3. We then later cut them out and piece them back together in a any sort of position. This has a few key advantages:
- Not all of your staff has to be shot at the same, time allowing your business to keep running.
- We can make sure that each person looks their best.... rather than having 7 people looking great and that one guy in mid blink... which is normal of larger group photos.
- If you have staff turn-over.... no need to reshoot the whole thing.. we can just take that person out and add the new person in.
- Eliminates distracting elements from your group photo, and focuses the viewer on your staff.
Plus we can shoot this just about anywhere there is enough room to set up our equipment! So if you're saying to yourself "Dang Gary that is a sweet idea... how do I get a shot like that for my office?" just shoot us an email.
